Apple admits iPhone 6S and 6S Plus battery meters misleading
Users of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus may find their phone’s battery percentage fails to update when they change timezones or update the phones’ time settings manually.

If the issue persists, users have been advised to contact Apple Support for assistance and more information about the issue.
A number of owners of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus have had an issue where the battery status indicator does not update to the current level. Once that is done, your battery percentage should return back to your screen.
Apple has acknowledged the problem, which appears to only affect the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. This means that users will not get a fair idea on how much their phone batteries are juiced up.
According to Apple Support, iPhone 6S and 6S Plus users should restart their devices and proceed to Settings.
In the 3 days since it was delivered on Friday, I’ve had to reboot my iPhone 6s Plus at least four times to fix this issue.
The recommended fix for the issue is to restart the phone and turn on the Set Automatically option for date and time. Some believe that the problem started days before the release of iOS 9.2 in December. “But eventually it gets stuck again”.
Apple has therefore released a support document that talks about the issue, although they have only come up with a temporary fix.

Apple is now testing a new version of its iOS software that could fix the battery life bug.
