But the omission doesn’t appear to have derailed the phone’s positive aspects as review scores remain high – just as they were for last year’s iPhone 6s.

The carriers’ reports contradict a survey released Monday that said iPhone 7 demand was down compared with the demand for the iPhone 6 past year.
Like the current iPhone6, the iPhone 7 comes in two sizes, a 4.7 inch display and a plus version with almost an inch more screen area. Reviewers generally applauded the new jump in performance.
Still, when compared to the percentage of likely buyers following the launch of the iPhone 6S a year ago, the new data indicates the iPhone 7 faces a steeper uphill climb. At the same time, it allows Apple to focus more on battery life. Instead of the button physically moving, as has been the case from day one on the first iPhone, the home button on the iPhone 7 stays put.
IDC also mentioned that the iPhone is finally IP67 certified and water resistant, has a better dual camera with a lower aperture, and longer battery life.
Even before the iPhone 7 was officially announced, rumors have circulated about Apple’s 2017 iPhone plans. The iPhone SE quickly became the third top-selling smartphone in the USA for the second quarter of this year.
