Apple Allegedly Kills Off Single Lens iPhone 7 Just Months Before Launch
Foxconn has been tipped in an effort to develop its own glass phone casings, something sources say it has been working on for the past year or so to flawless in time for the 2017 iPhones; it is also reportedly developing its own high-end OLED technologies thanks to its Sharp acquisition in a bid to take on Samsung and China’s Biel Crystal. As per the previous two-year product cycle, Apple iPhone 8 2017 is expected to be equipped with a fresh design coupled with plenty of new features.

Rumors persist that the iPhone 7 release date is but a minor bump from the iPhone 6S, the two handsets almost identical in numerous aspects.
Foxconn Technology Group is developing a glass casing for smartphones as its key client Apple Inc.is said to be revamping the iPhone, people familiar with the developments say. The company has been building the casings since 2015 since they are finding hard to find the correct glass casing for the iPhone 2017.
Leaks that have reached the web in the last few months have also brought forward this idea, suggesting that, in addition to the standard 4.7-inch and the Plus models, Apple also planned to unveil an iPhone 7 Pro coming with a Smart Connector and other exclusive features.
In addition to Foxconn, Taiwan’s Catcher Technologies and Jabil Circuits from the United States along supply casing for various iPhone models. Also, 2017 is the iPhone’s 10th anniversary, hence the rumor has it that this year’s generation will only bring minor improvements (the 7th gen) while the 8th gen in 2017 will be something completely new and flabbergasting. It is similar to the display screens that Samsung uses on their mobile devices.

OLED becoming part of the iPhone supply chain is seen as another killer innovation from the Cupertino-based tech giant. Currently, Apple uses metal casings and low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) panels.
