It is widely expected that Apple is unveiling and releasing the iPhone 7 in September.

The news was first reported today by Taiwan’s Economic Daily Times.

According to the Taiwan newspaper, Hon Hai Precision Technology (2317.Taiwan) will remain the key assembler for iPhone 7 and Pegatron Corp.

If true, this latest iPhone order is significantly higher than the 65 million units predicted by Wall Street analysts.

The Taiex index jumped 2 percent as of 11:03 a.m. local time, the most among Asian equity benchmarks, with more than seven shares rising for each that fell.

Riding high on the buzz surrounding the iPhone 7, tech giant Apple has asked its suppliers to ramp up the production for the new model.

However, the authors point to the weakness in the iPhone 6S cycle, saying that ultimately, they estimate that iPhone unit sales will decline nearly 8% in 2016.

The iPhone 7 leaks are intensifying as Apple’s partners are getting ready to kick off the iPhone 7 production.

The speculation regarding the 256GB storage option for the iPhone grew stronger as the US-based SanDisk Corporation released a smaller NAND flash chip for iPhones, being one of Apple’s major NAND flash suppliers. Images of screen cable components were also included in the leaked photos and these suggested significant difference in the iPhone 6S. “As such, even Apple will likely struggle to forecast with any certainty how many phones they’re likely to sell in any given period”. The case leaks do not include holes for a 3.5 mm jack in which it is rumored to be going away.

Interestingly, Apple registered its first-ever sales dip in its history this year.

TSMC is expected to produce the A10 chip for the iPhone 7, while almost half of Hon Hai’s revenue is generated by orders from Apple. Barron’s said the figure handily topped analyst expectations of just 65 million iPhone 7 devices and marked the highest production target in almost two years.
