That right there in the hands of Apple CEO Tim Cook is the billionth Apple iPhone.

“But I’m very optimistic about the future because I see so many signs that are positive”, Cook said on the call when discussing iPhone upgrade rates.

In its quarterly update, Apple said profits slumped 27 per cent from a year ago to Dollars 7.8 billion on a sharp drop in iPhone sales. In his statement, he said that the company had never aimed at making the most, but rather making quality products, which could create a difference. “Thank you to everyone at Apple for helping change the world every day”, Cook said. According to the reports, the company hits the mark of 500 million in March 2014 on selling iPhones.

Apple is slowly entering unchartered waters when it comes to improving the figures other than that of iPhone Sales.

Apple’s iPhone 7 is round the corner and just like every year, we have a ton of rumours surrounding it. However, the strong sales of the iPhone SE eased the slump in iPhone sales. Android phones, however, are made by a variety of companies, unlike iPhones which are only made by Apple. Apple is also likely to introduce a new iPhone lineup in the fall, though. Compared to a year ago, the net revenues and profits have declined across the globe, except in India.

Apple is expected to unveil its next iPhone devices in September. We won’t have to wait much longer to see if the iPhone 7 will end up ditching the headphone jack or adding a dual-camera system, as some rumors suggest.
