Apple CEO Tim Cook invests in shower head start-up
Famous figures in the tech world have been raving about the Nebia shower heads.

The gorgeous shower head not only looks like a traditional shower crossed with an iMac, but it can reportedly reduce water consumption by as much as 70 percent. That means that more water comes into contact with your body.
Google might have the Nest Smart Thermostat, but Tim Cook’s got a smart shower, thanks to a recent investment by Apple’s CEO in a new environmentally-friendly shower company.
Would you throw down cash for a more economical shower head?
The product uses nozzles to break water up into tiny droplets, which increases the surface area of where the spray can go.
The Nebia, instead, “blasts a steamy mist with the force of a miniaturized jet engine”, according to one review by a naked journalist. Apple confirmed to The Times that Cook invested, but made clear that it was done on a personal basis, not through Apple.
Philip Winter, Nebia’s cofounder and CEO, repeatedly declined to provide details on Cook’s involvement at this point.
Michael Birch also invested.
Nebia has been testing out its shower heads on the campuses of Apple and Google, as well as in Stanford University and at Equinox gyms.
In addition to the private financing from Cook and Schmidt’s organization, Nebia is also raising funds on Kickstarter to test the project’s appeal.

Nebia Shower was recently introduced on crowdfunding website Kickstarter and has quickly reached its $100,000 funding goal, with over $130,000 in pledges and counting to be paid out to the six-person company on September 11.
