Apple CEO Tim Cook slams Microsoft’s first laptop

The iPad Pro, which Apple unveiled in September, is the biggest iPad yet, with a Retina display screen measuring 12.9 inches diagonally and running on Apple’s A9X processor. The Apple Pencil – the company’s first stylus – adds $99 to the price of the device and the Smart Keyboard costs an extra $169. There are four in total, and the system is self-balancing, which is a fancy way of saying that no matter how you hold the iPad Pro, the sound feel natural. The tablets can be ordered in silver, space gray or gold.

The iPad Pro has already replaced Cook’s MacBook, he told the Independent: “I only travel now with an iPad Pro and iPhone, that’s it”.

– Tim Cook, Apple CEO, on Microsoft’s newest Surface Book – for when Cook isn’t talking civic responsibility and civil rights, he’s talking trash about the competition.

The iPad Pro is seen by many as Apple’s entrance into the “hybrid” computer market, where a device can function like a laptop with a physical keyboard, but also has a touchscreen. The Pencil and Keyboard for the Apple iPad Pro are expected to arrive 3 to 4 week later.

Apple’s iPad Pro is not just a larger iPad.

Like Apple’s own Smart Keyboard, the Logitech keyboard utilizes the iPad Pro’s Smart Connector, removing the need for charging or for a Bluetooth connection. Consumers are stubbornly refusing to trade in their existing iPads – which still work quite well, thank you very much – and competition from Android tablet manufacturers is fiercer than ever.

It’s a bold statement to make, considering some critics have compared the Surface Book and the new iPad Pro.
