Apple Confirms iPhone 7 Event Launch for September 7th

Apple sent out invitations yesterday morning that simply said “See you on the 7” The venue is once again at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, with the familiar start time of 10 a.m. PT. “In March, there was high anticipation that Apple would launch its newest generation of iPhones, but the 4-inch iPhone SE felt like a step back for consumers that enjoy more innovative Apple products”.

Apple addressed the issue by introducing a strengthened rear case on its subsequent iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus models.

Aside from the release date rumors, specs and design are among the most speculated features on the new iPhone. We can probably also expect the phone to keep the metal design which made the 6 so popular. The latest mock-ups support this claim, which show no headphone jack, but features two speaker grills. Apple are expected to announce the omission of the 3.5mm headphone jack. A series of Apple certifications filed in Russian Federation appear to confirm plans for the new smartphones, along with an upgraded Apple Watch lineup and a pair of wireless “AirPods” earbuds.

It is expected that the iPhone 7 will be released in two version, first a standard handset to be called iPhone 7 and the other one a phablet sized phone to be called iPhone 7 Plus. The lightning port which now features at the bottom of the phone to be used for charging and data transfer might be upgraded to be used as a headphones jack as well.

Meanwhile, notorious leaker Evan Blass says the sale of the iPhone 7 is September 16. New pictures have emerged of the iPhone 7 in every colour but the new ones – that means Silver, Space Grey, Gold and Rose Gold.

Finally, it is presumed that the new iPhone 7 will be Apple’s most-waterproof phone yet, a fact that will delight people who tend to ruin their devices due to clumsiness, and that they will also have a huge 256GB-storage instead of today’s measly 16GBs.
