The iPhone has been on a downward trajectory with regards to sales in the past year, with fiscal Q3 2016 shipments falling to 40.4 million units compared to 47.7 million units during the same period last year.
Consumers rushed to their computers early Friday to preorder Apple’s latest iPhone, with select shipments of the smartphone stretching as far back as November. This time around, it would be the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus that has been introduced, taking over the mantle of being the “most advanced iPhone ever” from the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus – as with every single new iPhone that is released. “We expect those who are already on iPhones to make up the majority who will purchase the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus”. Airpods are wireless headphones that connect to Apple devices through a non-Bluetooth wireless connection.

Models of the iPhone in a shiny, jet black finish appear to be the most popular. Shipping dates are starting to slip into the 2-3 week range for the iPhone 7 Plus in the USA and the Jet Black model isn’t expected until November at this point. The duo has also removed the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, bringing in Lightning headphones and possibly going completely wireless next year.
