With one, we got two new phones, the iPhone 7 and the bigger iPhone 7 Plus, as well as the awkwardly named Apple Watch Series 2. Thanks to a software upgrade later this year, iPhone 7 Plus owners will be able to enhance their pictures by using depth-of-field effects to blur the background but keep foreground subjects in focus.

But Mike Binger, senior portfolio manager at Gradient Investments LLC in Minneapolis, said the new phone encouraged him that Apple was in good shape for a new sales cycle. The iPhone 7 Plus has dual 12MP rear cameras – one wide-angle and a telephoto lens.
The new phone will start shipping in major markets, including the United States and China, on September 16.
A black finish has also been added alongside gold, silver and rose gold. The iPhone 6s with 16GB of storage cost $649 when it was announced last year, and the iPhone 7 with 32GB of storage costs the same this year. And others still require a bit more elbow grease. Many are expecting a three-year cycle this time, culminating in a major redesign for 2017 to be called iPhone 8.
In a tie-up with sports giant Nike, the company said the Apple Watch Nike+ will be available in India and other countries late October.
Apple also launched Apple Watch Series 2, the next generation of its popular smartwatch, with features including a water resistance 50 meter rating for swimming, and built-in Global Positioning System so users can now run without an iPhone.

Shares of Fitbit Inc, which makes activity-tracking bands, closed down 2 percent on the emergence of such a high-profile competitor.
