There were high waves of rumors about the American conglomerate ditching its 3.5mm audio jack, but now it is legitimate that Apple has butchered its 100-year-old standard ear buds and supplanted it with two new additions like Lightning-powered EarPods and the Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter.

Contrary to what many had expected, the new iPhones are not mere variations of their predecessors; instead, Apple unveiled an iPhone 7 with all the bells and whistles: a dual camera system, stereo speakers, a revamped home button, a replacement to the headphone jack, and even a new color variant. That also comes as consumers are also waiting longer than before to buy a new smartphone. However, it could still be a great idea to stick around with your iPhone 6S as you wait for the release of next year’s version, which should indeed be big. Of course, as wireless headphones, they rely on battery power.

The £37 a month deal for iPhone 7 will cost £45 a month if you go for the larger 32GB iPhone 7 Plus. It’s the introduction of the more affordable iPhone 5C that raises eyebrows; created to appeal to emerging markets, it doesn’t prove to be a big hit. Bluetooth can be, admittedly, buggy; and other forms of wireless connectivity can receive interference from other machines or from the machines they are interconnected with. However, the pairing process won’t be a simple tap with other devices.
“The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. have two and one hour battery life gains [respectively] over the 6s and 6s Plus”, said Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty in an upbeat research note sent to clients. This question is in all our minds. Apple executives even told The Verge on Wednesday that they expect third-party accessory makers to fill these kinds of gaps quickly. So what happens if you lose one? Some of the competitive products are well over this price range.
Also, there is a truism being put forward by some in the media that the iPhone 7 is “good enough” and that having a good overall experience – both hardware and software – on a smartphone is more important than flashy new hardware.

Basically, the longer it takes you to upgrade your phone using the program, the more expensive it will be to stay on a yearly replacement schedule, for reasons I’ll get to in a minute.
