Apple’s back to school deal is now available for the residents of US and Canada, furthermore the deal goes live starting today and will end on September 18.

The promotion is targeted towards qualifying students, parents of students, and educators who purchase an eligible Mac. This will make the standard, wired version free, while the wireless option, which sells for $300, will require customers to pay the $100 difference.

The promotion launches today in Apple’s retail stores and participating authorized on-campus stores but won’t appear on the company’s e-store until August. 6. Giving customers a more valuable bargain will likely please those who were annoyed with Apple when it changed its Back to School promotion in 2011. The MacBook starts at $1,299, and boasts a 12-inch Retina display and features an all-new, more responsive keyboard and trackpad.

Apple is offering an instant credit in the amount of 9.95 when you buy a iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air or Mac Pro and a pair of Beats Solo2 On-Ear Headphones in black, white, red, blue gray or pink.
