Apple is hosting not one but two events on March 27
Last year, The Wall Street Journal said Apple would spend around $1 billion on original content, but it appears they’re on track to spend well over that amount by outbidding competitors like Facebook, YouTube, and Netflix for original programming. Back then, we expected Apple might reveal a new iPad, a new MacBook – any sort of new hardware, really. SCHILLER PHILIP W also sold $8.79 million worth of Apple Inc.

But Apple’s laptops are significantly more expensive than the iPad, which now retails for as little as $299 on Apple’s educational price list.
Meanwhile, Apple has software called Apple Classroom that works with iPads. Apple declined to comment.
Apple’s Mac platform has a deep history in education, and the iPad initially showed some promise of adoption for use in schools. But as the company has driven toward mass-market and higher-margin products in recent years, Google and Microsoft have had success breaking into classrooms with cheap laptops and tablets. The firm’s revenue for the quarter was up 12.7% on a year-over-year basis.
Apple accounted for 17 per cent of mobile computing shipments to American students in kindergarten through high school, according to data from the third quarter published by Futuresource Consulting.
This new, cheaper iPad might very well support Apple Pencil, something only available in iPad Pros and sorely lacking in last year’s 9.7-inch iPad. In fact, it is the most expensive model that Apple has ever produced and market pundits have been complaining about it ever since its launch. AAPL was made aware of the issue in late December, but has yet to fix it. All this means Apple has already become a big draw for show creators and stars. Kempen Capital Nv holds 2.06% of its portfolio in General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) for 659,130 shares. Still, demand for tablets is weak. In fact, the tablet market has gone down by 7% in the last one year.
Fort Washington Investment Advisors Inc decreased Apple Inc (AAPL) stake by 6.62% reported in 2017Q3 SEC filing.
Apple now offers a slew of different education-related software.
In 2016, when a ME school district gave iPads to students in grades seven through 12, one teacher said they were “a disaster” and that students primarily used them to play games during class. Apple introduced Swift Playgrounds and its Everyone Can Code curriculum in 2016, both of which are free.
More software is coming.
In other Apple news, insider Daniel J. Riccio sold 15,641 shares of the company’s stock in a transaction on Friday, January 5th.
An invitation to the event, sent to guests two weeks ago, featured a calligraphy-style Apple icon and the words: “Let’s take a field trip”, accompanied by the description: “Join us to hear creative new ideas for teachers and students”. The company is instead promising live news announcements.

Perhaps that’s why Cook and other Apple leaders are planning and rehearsing a corporate event that’s going to take place at a magnet high school. Measurements from the EMG strap could potentially also be used alongside different sensors, such as those from a photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor, to determine specific user movements.
