Apple is working on wireless charging technology for the iPhone
According to the report Apple is rolling out wireless charging over a distance as early as 2017 in the iPhone 7S. But the Cupertino company is working relentlessly to introduce innovative technologies in its next-gen iPhones to boost sales.

Wireless-charging still feels like it’s a long ways off, but if anybody can take a poorly thought out concept and find a way to make it work, it’s Apple.
Small wonder, then, that Apple has been dissatisfied with the minor convenience afforded by charging methods that still require proximity to charging mats or plugging into a wall socket.
According to The Verge, current devices using “wireless” inductive charging, including several competing Android phones and Apple’s own Watch, need to be in contact with a charging mat or pad to draw sufficient power.
Furthermore, it is observed that the power transfer efficiency decreases with the increasing distance between the charger and device, making the battery consume more time to charge. Major rivals, such as Samsung and Sony, have already released wireless-charging tech for their smartphones, so it’s imperative for Apple to offer a similar feature at the very least to remain competitive.
This may be a challenge for Apple, but the technology could be a boon to device owners.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus may have wireless charging technology sources “familiar with the plans” told Bloomberg News.
Many like us, do feel that Apple in a way is using India as a market to get rid of its older products.

“It remains to be seen which option Apple could be looking at for the iPhone, regardless of whether they will go for industry-standard certified or a proprietary solution”, he noted. Launching wireless charging tech which doesn’t require a power mat definitely appeal to consumers.
