Apple launches wireless AirPods, BeatsX, Beats Solo3, PowerBeats3 headphones

The “Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter” is already listed on Apple’s website and you can buy one for $9. That’s a huge delay considering the actual iPhone 7 release date is September 16. The iPhone 6 faced its own supply issues in 2014, while the iPhone 5 also ran up against insufficient component supplies. Ultimately, it wasn’t Apple that killed the headphone jack, but simple math, and we’re willing to bet that most other smartphone manufacturers eventually follow suit. Apple has ditched the headphone jack on both iPhone models, instead connecting its new EarPods via Lightning cable.

However, the rise can also be attributed to Apple’s decision to scrap the 16GB model across the board – meaning fans will have to pay slightly more for 32GB memory going forwards.

Eliminating the headphone jack is a controversial move for Apple, and the reaction was decidedly mixed.

It’s now nearly impossible to buy many models of the new iPhone, leaving people waiting until November.

But Apple told Mashable that it will be selling single AirPods through its retail partners. Pre-orders began at 12:01 a.m. In India, the phones will be available from October 7 and the price starts at Rs 60,000 (32GB).

The AirPods that Apple also unveiled during its iPhone 7 event on Wednesday will ship later this year, and they’ll be completely wireless.

The AirPod case, however, has 25 hours of juice. Even the top-of-the-line Apple Watch Edition Series 2 with the ceramic body is listed as shipping in 5-7 weeks. Sprint, in particular, last year launched its iPhone Forever program, which gives people who lease an iPhone from Sprint the right to trade in for a new one every year.
