While a 4-inch iPhone is nothing new for Apple, the company has made that screen size unavailable in its latest two iPhone lineups: both the iPhone 6 and 6S are only available with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays.

Additionally, along with the rumors about the 4-inch iPhone has come the rumor that new Apple Watch models and possibly the iPad Air 3 will be released. Also, as opposed to the rumours, then new device will not have its design based off the iPhone 7, but it will borrow a handful of aspects from the iPhone 5S and will still sport a headphone jack. Many analysts expect Apple to report its first-ever decline in iPhone sales when it reveals its earnings later today. The new iPhone 5SE will be an upgraded version of iPhone 5S and will be available in rose gold color. The report says that we’ll more likely see an iPhone 5se with an A9/M9 processor.
According to 9to5 Mac, an inside source has said that the upcoming iPhone will be named the iPhone 5SE.
All in all, it appears as if the new 4-inch iPhone (whatever it ends up being called) will be a hodgepodge of Apple’s last three flagship releases. In the said image, the phone’s body is much similar to iPhone 5S except that it has a curved glass design just like the iPhone 6 and 6S.
Apple employees described the suffix -se as “special edition” and ‘enhanced, ‘ with its internals updated for modern use. Other reported upgrades include an NFC chip for Apple Pay and other communication options that would include Bluetooth 4.2, VoLTE, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The iPhone 5s will be on discount as the iPhone 5se releases reportedly in March this year.
Those later-model upgrades include the A8 processor, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera, Apple Play, and more.

The iPhone 5se is expected to be introduced during Apple’s March event, in time for a late March or early April launch.
