Apple may refresh MacBook Air in 2016
Currently, Apple offers two MacBook Air models that both come standard with a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 6000, 4GB of memory and an 128GB solid state drive.

According to MacRumors, Apple is planning to release a thinner MacBook Air next year in 13 inch and 15 inch sizes. If that’s the case, Apple may decide to launch the new range at its Worldwide Developers Conference, which takes place in June.
Not to mention Apple is also is promoting its 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which comes with a display that almost matches the display on the 13-inch MacBook Air. Is that a laptop you might be interested in? To date, however, Apple hasn’t given any word as to when the 2016 models of the MacBook will make their way into the tech market. Due to this, the company could lose some customers in the future because the base model MacBook Air has been one of the top-selling MacBooks as students and professionals prefer the device because of its portability and productivity features.
So it is clear the Apple will have to substantially redesign the MacBook Air next year and ensure that it outshines its rivals in terms of speed. He points out that the introduction of the 12-inch MacBook in March 2015, pretty much made the Air series redundant as the former is sleeker, and has a sharper screen plus higher price. It’s not said whether or not the new MacBook Airs would receive Retina displays or not. Plus, we’d be extremely surprised if it didn’t come with a Retina display.
According to The Australian News Network, the new MacBook may be launched sometime in 2016, at a time when flowers start to bloom.
Now the MacBook Air is available in 11-inch and 13-inch models, although the EDN reckons there’s a sizeable chance that the smallest laptop will be axed in favour of that 15-inch effort.
It remains to be seen if the rumors tied up with the processor would be affirmed by Apple, same with the more important issue on when Apple would actually release the next generation laptops.

The company will also nix the 11-inch MacBook Air, those sources say.
