Apple Music for Android screenshots sighted by German website

With its first app, the company received a few silly backlash over the release, but that’s not stopping Apple from moving forward with the release of Apple Music for Android. So far, the Apple Music for Android app is nowhere to be seen, but a new leak has surfaced online that aims to show screenshots of the purported app. Apple Music Connect, the social network for musicians built into the service, is also included.

There’s been no word on an official Apple Music for Android release date, but one would assume it’s coming before Christmas if all goes well with the beta.

For the most part, the functionality is identical: Beats 1 Radio, access to feature the full Apple Music catalog, and a surprisingly strong recommendation engine. The subscription-based streaming service launched back in June with iOS 8.4 for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, and OS X, but according to a new set of screenshots, work is progressing on what’s purportedly an Android version of the software. “We’re confident wearables are the next big frontier – especially for our use case – and will improve the transit experience for our Android users”, said Jake Sion, Transit App’s director of strategy and development. The Verge reports that shipments of the Apple TV are expected to start arriving by the end of the next week, so Apple didn’t give much extra time to those getting apps ready for their TV debut. Currently, the company offers two music streaming plans: one is for individuals, which costs just $9.99 a month, while a family plan costs $14.99, in which up to six people can share one single account and stream music as much as they want on their devices.
