The appearance of these announcements at McDonald’s chains seem to suggest that McDonald’s is masking that transition and that the Android Pay launch is close, and Google did say initially that Android Pay would be launching later this Summer so the end of August would seem like a reasonable time to enable the service. Service procedures are the same with Apple Pay; however, it is important that all managers and crew are aware of the change.

However, Samsung Pay will also kick off a limited-participation public beta from August 25, so it’s possible that this is a pre-emptive update for McDonald’s registers should one of those trial users stop by for a Big Mac. But it hasn’t given a firm date of when it will actually launch, only saying that it would launch sometime this year. But we know that this isn’t correct, because Samsung stated that the U.S. rollout of the Samsung Pay isn’t until September 28th. Samsung released the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 5 and the S6 Edge+ on that day.
Like Apple Pay, Google’s new payments platform is easy to adopt. “It announced that it’s going live soon, along with Samsung Pay (?)”.
To recap, Android Pay was announced 3 months ago at Google I/O, and we haven’t heard much about it since then. NFC is used to process the charge, and a record of the transaction stored in your mobile wallet. For consumers, one must register with the app and link a card to initiate a mobile payment.

Bank of Scotland, TSB, Halifax, Lloyds Bank and M&S Bank will have to wait until later in the autumn to get Apple Pay on their iPhones.
