Apple pushes out iOS 9 update with major bug fix

The firm is advising users to not upgrade to the new operating system until Apple has rolled out a patch for the issue. It will also come pre-installed on the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and the monstrous iPad Pro. If you haven’t upgraded and you can not live without our phone, you may want to wait until the newer upgrade is available.

App slicing is now unavailable for iOS 9 apps due to an issue affecting iCloud backups created from iOS 9 where some apps from the App Store would only restore to the same model of iOS device.

While iOS 9.0.1 seems to be a relatively minor update, the company is already prepping the next update with iOS 9.1 beta 2 mentioned above which would feature “under the hood” refinements and possibly bring additional functionality.

If you own an earlier iPhone on contract or just aren’t interested in upgrading right now, you may think you’re stuck having to navigate through ever-more-complicated apps. While compared to the older look and feel of the web portal, the new debuted version of iTunes Connect is entirely re-designed to support the newer version of the operating system and also for 3D Touch features. Some apps, for example, have problems with iOS 9’s split-screen multitasking.

Not much may have changed visually in your apps after the iOS 9.0 update. Perhaps the most popular is Workflow, which lets you add actions directly to your home screen with Safari’s Add to Homescreen function. And as your apps are updated, Spotlight should become better at being able to search within them. Just like iOS 8, iOS 9 has the same problem. Turning off Animations will help you boost performance like nothing else.

There aren’t any features on these new iPhones that you can’t live without.
