Apple releases ‘Move to iOS’ app for Android users

The aforementioned keyboard now drops to lowercase to save space and make the buttons slightly more user friendly, but the best part is that certain apps will display the keyboard with the cut, copy, and paste buttons on the keyboard itself instead of trying to poke your finger somewhere on the screen and force them to pop up while not accidentally selecting the object you’re pointing to.

With Move to iOS installed on an Android smartphone or tablet, the Move to iOS service is able to transfer nearly all important data from the Android device to the new iOS device, including contacts, message history, photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail account information, calendars, wallpapers, DRM-free songs, and books. Apple has gone out of its way to make it easy for Android users to switch to the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

A new Low Power feature means that battery life will be improved and there’s a host of new emojis you can use to taunt your friends.

When you are ready to move from Android to iOS, the app creates a private Wi-Fi network that lets you find your Android device from your new shiny iOS one. That’s it – you can start using your new iPhone or iPad and experiencing its endless possibilities.

JacksonCoulter: “Really disappointed in the reviews”. It’s the first app on Google Play from Apple (other than the acquired Beats).

The Guardian (Free) already added both Slide Over and Split View multitasking on iPad as well as a native Apple Watch app. Spotlight search can pull stories from the app right from the home screen. People do tend to get rather partisan in these kinds of situations.

Microsoft’s Send is a unique app, where it happens to be a short form e-mail app that is available for the iPhone over in the U.S. and Canada, although it is well on its way to the Windows Phone platform, not to mention being made available on the Google Play store for Android-powered devices.

Attackers could activate this restricted functionality and take full control of the apps either to profit from abusing them directly, or to launch attacks on other apps. For instance, only 1 in 10 of the Android applications reviewed encrypted data at rest, while not one of the iOS travel apps had that feature.
