Apple releases update watchOS 2 for Apple Watch after delay

CNet said that the release finally happened after a delay last week when a bug disrupted the operating system update on its testing process.

I’ve been using the Watch OS 2 for a week and a half, and am happy to report Apple has made progress on my biggest problem with its watch-that it is just too slow.

Apple had previously announced that watch OS 2, its proprietary operating system for the iPhone’s most expensive accessory, the Apple Watch, would debut on the 16th of September. You’d probably spend more time staring at the circular loading screen than whatever you were looking for from an app – not exactly what you’d want for a new flagship Apple device. These apps will also be able to run without an immediate connection to your phone, something only first-party apps could do before. The malicious software isn’t believed to affect the watch’s functionality, though it could collect data on the tethered iPhone and send them to remote servers, according to security experts. If you own an Apple Watch, you can update it now. What delays it is the third-party Apple Watch apps – relying on the iPhone to do just about everything.

Enter the passcode when prompted and wait for the progress bar to appear and complete. Once you take it off you wrist and put it on charging, the watch will function as a clock that you can put on your nightstand. It can also take advantage of the new “live photo” feature on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, which displays short video segments from before and after you shoot a photo.

These can include headlines, flight information and calendar appointments. When resting, the digital crown as well aside button can be used to snooze and pushed the alarm off.

After the update, HomeKit will be natively built into the Watch, and this will let people “talk” to their smart household items through their wearable.

More later. Watch out for it!

It is not known what the bug was, but the software’s release suggests it has been resolved.

“Make sure your watch is in Bluetooth range of your iPhone and connected to its charger”. The stainless steel Apple Watch collection offers a variety of new bands including a two-toned Classic Buckle in black or saddle brown. Apple will be adding to the selection of available watch straps with Hermès coming on board soon. With the addition of more customisable watch faces, it will be possible to place the information you really need upfront.

Time Travel is another useful feature.
