Cracked iPhone screen, damaged camera or buttons not working?

Apple’s been running an iPhone trade-in program for some time now, which is different than the iPhone Upgrade Program that the company launched previous year. That’s set to change this week, though, with Apple to begin accepting trade-ins of phones with broken screens, cameras or buttons “within reason”. So, if your phone is a shattered mess, you’re probably better off recycling it.
According to the report, handset owners can expect to get $50 for an iPhone 5s, $200 for an iPhone 6 and $250 for an iPhone 6S.
Meanwhile, Apple is also set to begin installing screen protectors for Apple Store customers on request. If this means no more annoying bubbles and dust between the glass and screen protector, we’re all for it.
Aside from its new screen protection installation service, Apple will be launching this week an expansion to its Reuse and Recycle Program that will allow customers to trade in their broken iPhones to receive store credits that may go toward the purchase of newer iPhone models.

Should a customer feel that an error was made in the screen protector application process, then the Apple Store will redo the process at no additional cost. Apple doesn’t really sell any great iPhone screen protectors though – I’ve tried this one and it’s pretty flimsy – and it sounds like they’ll only install products that you buy right there at the store.
