Apple’s App Store gets a “Notify” button for soon-to-launch apps
Super Mario Run, an iOS game announced during today’s Apple Event, will instead be the company’s next collaboration with mobile game developer DeNA. There was a lot of talk about the game debuting on iOS this fall, enough to question whether it would be a platform exclusive. The game is reminiscent of many mobile auto-runners but we’re sure that Nintendo’s design geniuses will bring something new to the genre. One of the few things that got a lot of people really stoked was finally being able to play a Super Mario game on iOS.

Yesterday Nintendo surprised all of us by revealing the first official Mario game for smartphones: Super Mario Run for iPhone (and iPad).
Players will tap the screen to make Mario jump-with longer taps making him jump higher, and they’ll need to strategically mix up timings and bounces off other characters to collect coins. The game also features an synchronous multiplayer mode where you can compete against the scores of your friends and players online.
Legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of many of Nintendo’s most famous characters, including Mario, took to the stage at Apple’s San Fran launch and showed off the game in all its glory.
In the third mode, you can create your own Muschroom Kingdom using coins collected by playing the first two game modes.

Surprisingly, Super Mario Run won’t be free-to-play with Miyamoto saying it would be sold at a “set-price”. Nintendo will release the game in time for holiday 2016.
