Apple Inc faced an embarrassing technical glitch after some customers reported difficulties updating their iPhone operating system to the latest software, which became available Tuesday.

Although, it is not clear as to what the root cause of the problem is and which are the affected devices, it is better to play safe and choose iTunes update.

Other complaints included the elimination of the swipe-to-unlock feature and replacing the pistol emoji with one of a water gun. Unlike Android updates, everyone gets the iOS 10 update at the same time. On top of being able to delete default apps, you can learn about what else you’ll be getting from iOS 10 by clicking here.

Want more stories like this? The technical gaffe came as South Korean competitor Samsung Electronics Co is facing more serious issues with its Galaxy Note 7. If the progress bar for the update isn’t going anywhere, Apple have some advice about that, which you can see here.

WARNING: Before carrying out any update, it is recommended that users back up any their files either onto a computer or in iCloud in order to avoid any data loss during the switch.

The update introduces big changes to iMessages, including the ability to add stickers to texts. But some users have discovered problems within specific apps, for instance the newly updated Messages app.

It’s possible iOS 10 could have had an even stronger launch if not for that initial hiccup, but it’s still been an impressive first 24 hours.

If you don’t have iTunes installed on your PC, first download and install it. The Facebook-owned company appears to be testing the feature on iOS devices.
