Apple’s iOS 10 update causes temporary headache for customers
Apple users who were quick to download its latest iOS 10 software on Tuesday were subject to a major bug that left devices temporarily useless.

The error messages said the phones might need a factory reset, which wipes out the phones current content and settings.
While the iOS issues are, of course, unexpected, it’s always smart to hold off updating new mobile software until Apple works out first iteration kinks. The company has accepted that some users were affected, however, the problem was resolved.
It is also important that you are using the latest version of iTunes.
The restoration process should reinstate the device’s most recent backup.
The Guardian has seen an iPhone locked in a reboot cycle which iTunes will not recognise following the update, while Engadget reported one of its journalists had suffered similar issues.
To backup a device via iTunes, connect it via a USB cable to iTunes, tap on the device name and click “Back Up Now”. If you face any problem, go to either Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help. 3. If it takes more than 15 minutes, you will have to repeat these steps and choose Restore instead of Update. 5.
Apple’s iOS 10 is only created to work on relatively recent models, so owners must have an iPhone 5 or newer to download the update. Release the button only when you see the recovery mode screen. 4.
When you see the option to “Restore” or “Update”, choose” Update’ and iTunes should then kick in and attempt to reinstall iOS “without erasing your data’. If you have previously backed up your device with iTunes, you might be able to restore from your back-up during set-up.

Many iPhone users could not wait to download the new iOS 10 update today, but a new glitch made a “small number” wish they had after finding the update rendered their phone unusable.
