Apple’s iPhone 7 To Roll Out Wireless Updates
(That’s still just a rumor at this point, though an unnamed source told Fast Company that the next iPhone won’t have a headphone jack.) Whatever Apple’s plans for wireless headphones might be, it’s exciting to know that the company is looking into creating a better headphone experience for its product users.

Many headphone makers these days included a cabled connection for their wireless headphones. A lot of current Bluetooth headphones include an audio cable so users can go back to a wired connection when their headphones’ battery is low.
With Apple’s latest patented headphones, it seems that the tech giant is looking to resolve both of these issues.
Second, sometimes establishing a connection takes a few seconds, which interrupts what the user is now listening to.
The first problem is connecting to the correct Bluetooth device when there are several known connections within range.
Speaking of the Lightning connector, the patent also describes that the headphones’ wire is also capable of transmitting power.

It’s no secret that nobody wants Apple to ditch the classic headphone jack on the iPhone, especially the 240,000 individuals who signed a petition asking the company not to. The lightning port will still be a part of the design, however, the wireless charger is expected to be released as a separate purchase. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently published an Apple patent filing that promises to help improve headphone audio quality. According to the patent, the technology would work with in-ear, on-ear, and over-ear headphones. As my colleague Bryan Wolfe pointed out, the necessity of charging wireless headphones could frustrate some consumers, and being able to charge the accessory straight from the iPhone could alleviate some of that frustration.
