As well as opening up Siri to developers, Apple said it was also opening up Maps to developers. Apple was also granted parking related patents in May and July 2015.
It should also be noted that you might require CarPlay or some kind of auto Bluetooth system for this feature to work, as it will need to be able to detect when you have entered or exited your vehicle to recognize that you have stopped and parked the vehicle.
The feature will also allow users to get directions back to their vehicle, make changes to the location if it was inaccurate, or add more information, like maybe mention the auto parked next to you or some kind of landmark to make it more recognizable. You can also add a text note or take a photo of your car’s location in the Maps app, according to 9to5Mac.
Demoed on Monday at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference and now available for developers as a beta, iOS 10 will pack in a long list of new features.
Are you an Apple Maps advocate? Apple has since improved the app, and it’s now generally considered accurate and reliable.
Within iOS 10 the new version of Apple Maps will have a feature that will log where you parked the vehicle.
Several apps already exist that can help you find your auto.
The updated version of Apple Maps coming in iOS 10 gives drivers the ability to view pitstops along a route for coffee, gas and food.
