Apple says don’t worry about ‘Chipgate’

But in a statement, Apple said that the discrepancy was not reflected in real-world usage. Like our battery benchmarks, the truth is probably somewhere in between.

Apple iPhone is no more odd to item abandon issues. However, it’s still uncertain whether Apple will stick to its existing screen size, or increase again to compete with the latest wave of Android handsets.

The iPhone 6s has broken cover, and it’s easily the best Phone ever released.

For its part, Apple dismissed the battery talk as so much uninformed idle chatter. Apple has a point, real-world usage doesn’t typically entail stressing a smartphone’s CPU until the battery is drained. Neither of these are particularly representative of real-world conditions. They’re seeing exactly how people are actually using their iPhones with their own apps – not how benchmarks power-drain them by running the CPUs at peak for sustained periods; something that is unlikely to happen in real-world situations.

Overall, Apple would not say anything as to why there were two different manufacturers for the A9 chips. The Samsung chip tends to run several degrees hotter than the TSMC A9. Each company will test their silicon to determine how good (or bad) the wafer is. To understand why, consider a hypothetical scenario in which a “good” transistor contains between 100-200 atoms of a material, a “great” transistor contains between 140-160 atoms, and a bad transistor (that won’t meet desired specifications) has either less than 100 or more than 200.

What chip do you have on your iPhone 6s/6s Plus? Now if you just bought yourself an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus and want to find out which model your phone has, it’s simple.

Apple double sourced A9 generation from TSMC and Samsung.

What does this mean for TSMC vs. Samsung?

Things remain a bit different with the Apple online store, however.

If you can spot the difference between the two, it might be time to lighten up a little.

Wireless charging, a curved screen variant, USB-C port compatibility, a slimmer design, faster processors, more memory, virtual reality tie-ins… these are just a few of the features rumored for the next generation iPhone 7 when it is launched. Chipsets made by one partner, TSMC, are better than those made by another, Samsung.
