Apple scraps appointment-only policy for buying Apple Watch at stores

THOSE WITH A CREDIT CARD and a penchant for gadgets beware: you no longer need an appointment to buy an Apple Watch.

Staff at the store will cater to all customers walking in to try out the Apple Watch provided that staffers are available that and the try out table isn’t already full.

Developer Hamza Sood revealed today on his Twitter account that he managed to hack his Apple Watch device, forcing it to accept custom watch faces, by bypassing Apple’s restrictions against installing third-party watch faces.

Now that all the hoopla surrounding the Apple Watch’s debut has settled down, with Apple now directly selling the smartwatch in its retail stores, the company has made a similar change to its policies of try-ons. However, before turning up at the store, customers needed to book an appointment online.

“For this week forward, Apple Stores are speeding up the try-on process by dropping the former appointment requirement and not requiring potential customers to share their information with the store employee”, reads the report.

Not satisfied with a gold version of the watch – which itself goes for up to $24,000 – Ludacris worked with Atlanta jewellers Icebox to create the diamond bling seen dangling from his wrist at the Fox Teen Choice Awards on Monday.

The watch is becoming easier to buy just as it’s about to receive its first big software update.

The “Fast and Furious” actor then showed off his “Iced out Apple Watch” in his next post on the popular photo-sharing app along with a slew of hashtags, Digital Trends reported.
