TvOS betas are more hard to install than beta updates for iOS and OS X. Installing the tvOS beta requires the Apple TV to be connected to a computer with a USB-C to USB-A cable, with the software downloaded and installed via iTunes or Apple Configurator. Apple tend to take around 6-8 weeks between launching the first beta version and releasing the finished update.

Like the iOS beta, the watchOS beta is mostly stomping on bugs.

That’s not all, as the T-Mobile bug that prevented apps from loading over a cellular connection has finally been fixed. This feature, that enables users to call over the internet without resorting to the use of a third-party application, might only have been introduced for the carrier Verizon.

Other than that, the iOS 9.3 Beta 3 build brings the usual security patches and bugfixes. Health also included a new apply “Activity” view which was similar to the Apple Watch layout.

The third beta release of Apple’s tvOS 9.2 for the fourth-generation Apple TV brings a number of useful features to users.

It looks to us like Apple is starting speeding things up a little bit with the development cycle of iOS 9.3, as well as tvOS 9.2, watchOS 2.2, and Mac OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan, and the March event you may have heard about in the news lately could have something to do with it. It also introduces the ability to group apps into folders on the Apple TV home screen just like iOS. This is somewhat expected, given that the number of new devices coming out next month sort of means that there will be new operating systems at some point over the next several months.
