Apple Shares Rise on iPhone Reviews, Early Preorder Indications
T-Mobile said orders for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus over the weekend (Friday through Monday) “shattered all previous pre-order records” at the carrier.

In addition, Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, which has been a “pain in the neck” for some people because all of their headphones and ear buds can’t be used with the iPhone 7 unless they have an adapter, Mossberg noted.
“While the iPhone 7 update is more revolutionary than evolutionary, we believe investors could consider these strong early pre-order indications as being reflective of the impact of Apple’s significant iPhone installed base expansion over the past few years”, Stifel analyst Aaron Rakers said in a note.
Similarly, Sprint Corp. (NYSE:S) reported a 275% year-over-year (YoY) growth in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus pre-orders in the first three days after the smartphone’s launch.
“It is like four times bigger than the iPhone 6 for us at the pre-order stage”, T-Mobile chief executive John Legere said in a live-broadcast at Periscope.
Neither Verizon nor AT&T, the two largest wireless carriers in the US, had released figures for iPhone 7 pre-orders as of this morning.
The new iPhones will arrive pre-loaded with iOS 10, the latest version of Apple’s operating system, which launches today.
There’s nothing more than bumped up specs on the refreshed 4.7-inch device, but the fact that it now comes in jet and matte black have done enough to drive up pre-order numbers significantly. Last week, the company said it would not release its first weekend sales figures this year for the first time in its iPhone history.
Demand for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus appears to be on fire.

One of the most noticeable changes arriving with the iPhone 7 is the lack of a standard 3.5-millimeter audio headphone jack. Instead Apple seemed to promote using audio products with Lightning, which have existed for a while, or going wireless.
