Apple shares slip on heels of iPhone 7 launch
The new phones were launched alongside the second version of the Apple Watch at an event in San Francisco last night.

You don’t need special headphones to hear all the griping about Apple nixing the headphone jack. I’m not sure I’d recommend that, as the glossy body was attracting fingerprints pretty quickly at the demo. The company has added two new colors to the iPhone line-up: a high-gloss jet black and a matte black. That shows the improved 12MP camera, which is now brighter at f/1.8, has a 50 percent brighter flash, and can create better photos with a more powerful image processor.
And speaking of the headphone jack.
Other physical changes are invisible.
While killing the outdated decades-old audio port was the correct choice, understandably, not everyone is ready to invest in Apple’s AirPods.
All told, the best option for charging your iPhone 7 while using headphones may just be to invest in a pair of wireless headphones.
The home button has a new “taptic engine” that helps make responses faster.
Sanford Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi estimates the Apple Watch will generate US$4.1 billion in revenue for Apple this year, up USfrom $2.7 billion in 2015.
Apple will give you one! That’s good news for runners and wanderers, but it’ll be interesting to see what kind of hit the battery life takes.
Unlocked phones allow users to pay off the full cost of the phone and shop around for a wireless carrier, instead of subsidizing the cost of the phone over the length of a contract.
The new smartphone, which is eagerly anticipated by tech fans across Coventry and Warwickshire, boasts an array of new features and colours. They have lasted this long because of a snowball effect: because the headphone jack standard was so common, more things were made that worked with the standard headphone plug-and-jack system.
“Consumers feel less inclined to upgrade their phones, since there is not enough innovation from one iteration to another, or the changes wouldn’t make much difference in their user experience”. None of those features seem to win sales, though.
“The camera was the biggest upgrade, [and] I believe the new 7 Plus camera could be a true game changer as I can argue it now competes with entry DSLRS”, said Patrick Moorhead, an analyst at Moor Insights and Strategy.
People who want iPhones don’t want them because of the spec sheets.
Apple shares, which closed up 0.6 percent on Wednesday (Thursday NZ Time) when the new phones were launched, were down more than 2 percent at US$106.04 in morning trading on Thursday (Friday NZT).

All this comes at a price with the iPhone 7 Plus 32GB, 128GB and 256GB models priced at starting at £719, £819 and £919 respectively.
