But if they can get a watch on your wrist at the same time (which is more likely when the buyer feels like they’re getting a special deal), you’re like the ideal customer – and one that’s probably not leaving Apple’s ecosystem any time soon. The company broke records in 2014 and is doing the same this year with the iPhone 6, the report stating that total revenue generated from sales in the fiscal 2015 is more than $75 billion.
Apple said it sold 5.7 million Macintosh computers in the quarter ending September 26, up from 5.5 million in the same period a year ago. “We shipped a lot [of watches] in the first quarter, then the last quarter we shipped even more”, Apple CEO Tim Cook said during the recent Wall Street Journal Digital conference.
Apple won’t be alone on that front.
Global sales, which account for 62 percent of the quarter’s revenue, apparently play a key role in creating the positive growth numbers. Not to mention traditional Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer is preparing to launch its $1,800 Android Wear and Intel-powered smartwatch in November.
When the iPhone 6s debuted, it included what could be a game-changing feature in the mobile world: 3D Touch. This feature lets you assign different actions to harder and softer presses on the screen, and there’s an API for developers to take advantage of it. However, that doesn’t mean Apple’s app review process is any less draconian or confusing.
A phone that can be used to weigh small objects thanks to its, and now an app promises to add the same feature to the iPhone 6s. Gravity unfortunately got rejected for having a misleading description and we immediately knew why: There are a couple dozen “scale” apps on the app store.
It seems that Apple is looking in to fortifying the displays found on its iPhones in order to tackle one of the biggest problems with smartphones- shattering screens. The app would support a maximum weight of about 0.85 pounds. The app was rejected because it allegedly had a “misleading description”. Make no mistake about it, this sets up iOS for a much bigger future. It’s an interesting direction for Apple, which for years insisted calling the apps on its TV box “channels”.
As on the last generation of Apple TV, you can position your app icons however you like. In the meantime, the team is working on its iOS game, Blackbox, the details of which can be viewed here. One way it stands out is in the consistency of design across apps.
Starting today, and running though November 15th, certain Apple Stores are offering $50 off the purchase of an Apple Watch Sport or Apple Watch if any iPhone is purchased at the same time.

All of the standard video streaming apps are there on the new Apple TV, such as iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, and HBO. But in practice? Well, the upgrade to the quality of window-shopping alone, by way of apps such as Gilt or even Zillow, explains why Apple and its partners thinks this is a good idea.
