The new lineup will have the same screen sizes as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus – 4.7- and 5.5-inch.

Judging by those numbers, a 90 million-unit quarter would not be out of the question for a new iPhone model.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple is preparing its largest and initial production run for the next iPhones by year-end, in an effort to set a new iPhone record. It also fits with Apple’s apparent strategy to put Force Touch into all of its devices – it was introduced in the Apple Watch, and has already been integrated into Apple’s MacBook. In line with the results of its emerging markets’ analysis, the firm stated that analysts and investors are underappreciating the strength of the current iPhone 6 and 6 Plus product cycle. Last week’s leak of an iPhone 6S schematic by a Foxconn employee showed that the new iPhone will have a 12-megapixel main camera, 2GB RAM, 4K video shooting capabilities, and 240fps slow motion.

In the first three months of the year, for the first time, Apple sold more iPhones in China than in the United States, a trend expected to grow as Chinese consumers upgrade from less expensive handsets.

But that wasn’t the only revelation; it turns out that Apple’s dominance is becoming increasingly focused on iPhone. Apple may adjust orders based on its projected demand, and it doesn’t inform all suppliers at the same time.

Apple tends to release new iPhones in a “ticktock” cycle – a phrase also used for the releases of new processors at Intel.

Finally, Dow Jones also said “1 new color for casing” is planned, which aligns with rumors that suggest Apple will sell a pink model in September.

The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are the best-selling devices that Apple has ever made, so this is a pretty big vote of confidence from Apple on the demand for the 6s. In 2014 Apple mostly relied on Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, Apple’s primary assembler and Pegatron Corp.

The Journal said Apple is considering using Taiwan-based Wintron as its third assembler. In other words, Apple’s iPhone sales during the company’s next refresh cycle could skyrocket by upwards of 28%.
