Apple to Introduce a 13 and 15-Inch MacBook Air Next Year

It would be a disaster for the company if they launch the MacBook Air 2016 while consumers are rushing to get discounts on various devices.

The MacBook Air, which comes in an 11- and 13-inch configuration, has not received a Retina display or new design since 2012.

In order to attain its slimmer build, the new MacBook Air will apparently feature fully redesigned internal components.

The 2016 edition of the MacBook Air is expected to pack new battery enclosures, cooling modules, panels and more into a revamped metal chassis.

The report stated that Apple looks set to introduce the new MacBook Air in 13-inch and 15-inch variants and the new devices are reported to be lighter and thinner than last year’s model. The new notebook is thinner than the MacBook Air and comes with a new keyboard that shortens key travel, but makes it thinner overall.

Apple’s iPad Pro was released on November 11 and could be bought for as low as $799. The MacBook Air hasn’t received a significant update in years so it’s definitely due for an update.

The upgraded MacBook Air is said to have a slimmer body, and will come in a 13-inch and 15-inch model.

According to Macworld, the new MacBook Air will be boasting its better graphics, faster flash storage and faster processors. Factor in the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro and it could mean the death of the 11-inch MacBook Air once and for all.

If these guesses turn out to be true, then previous reports about the MacBook Air 2016 being released this Christmas are wrong. The redesigned MacBook Air is anticipated to not only be thinner but sport a higher performance processor. Sad, because I think an Apple tablet/laptop would have a great spot amongst Apple devotees, but alas there is no incentive for them to build one, at least from a sales perspective right now. The new MacBook, which stands at 12-inches diagonally, could pretty well be a stand-in in the ultraportable category. The 13.5-inch Surface Book has a 3,000 x 2,000 pixel resolution screen.

Since the Macbook supports multi-touch, Apple knows that the financial cost is outweighed by the efficiency produced by multiple Force Touch sensors.
