Apple to launch new iPhone, iPad in March: 9to5mac

We’ve already learned that Apple is planning to host a launch event on March 15, where it is widely expected to take wraps off a compact 4-inch iPhone 5se and the iPad Air 3 along with new Apple Watch band options.

Launching the new iPhone and iPad models so soon after introduction and not offering pre-orders would be a new strategy for Apple. The sale of the new iPad Air and new iPhone would start on Friday, with no room for a pre-order phase. iPhones are historically launched with a pre-order.

Nevertheless, the report did include a disclaimer with the release date information, stating that Apple’s plans are subject to change. Many are expecting the iPhone 5se to cost around $500.

The iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, and 6S Plus, as well as Apple Watch, Watch Sport, and Watch Edition, all use such Immersion-patented technology, the company claims in complaints that also target AT&T.

Interestingly, Immersion isn’t just seeking damages from Apple – the company also wants a sales injunction covering Apple’s allegedly offending devices through a complaint the firm has filed with the International Trade Commission (ITC).

Next up is the iPad Air 3. It will also include an upgraded A9 processor and will contain 8 Megapixel rear camera just like with the iPhone 6.

iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus now features the second-generation Touch ID fingerprint scanner that according to Apple is up to two times faster compared to the previous generation Touch ID sensors. However both the devices are expected go on sale as early as March 18, says a report at 9to5Mac. It will be offered in the same colors as the 6s: gold, rose gold, silver and space gray.

The iPad Air 3 is said to take a few features from the iPad Pro, including four speakers (two on the top and bottom edges), as well as a magnetic Smart Connector to connect Smart Keyboards.
