If this is the case you may need to perform a Factory Restore. if you can not use the remote to perform a factory restore you will need a USB Type C cable and iTunes. However, it was observed that the app is not functional despite being briefly mentioned on one banner of the Apple Maps Connect after sign up. This isn’t surprising since Apple has not released a new model for Apple TV since 2012 until now.

The remote feels much more substantial than previous generations, and has the added benefit of being harder to lose between the couch cushions. The new remote allows you to play games with motion controls or the touch screen.
