Apple updates iWork for iOS 9

The company also rolled out updates for the iOS and OS X versions of the apps with support for 3D Touch, Split View, and more. Microsoft announced day one iOS 9 support for Split View on Office apps, but they have yet to enable 3D Touch.

Those using Pages, Keynote and Numbers for iOS and OS X will enjoy today’s update, which rolls out support for Split View, Force Touch and 3D Touch.

The new Pages adds Slide Over, Split View and Picture in Picture for the iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4.

On the desktop, you can Force Click an image and get haptic feedback as you edit for Pages and Keynote.

Pages: Word count, create custom colors, version history, preview on mobile Web browsers, comments, support for opening Pages ’06 and ’08 documents, view tracked changes, and insert pages and sections.

Keyboard improvements – The iWork apps can now also take advantage of the new shortcut bar in iOS 9 as well as shortcuts on wireless keyboards, letting you cut, paste, and copy with the best of them. Applications don’t need to be explicitly updated to support the new feature, but developers can update apps to make better use of the varying amounts of screen space.

Each of the iWork apps has also received a long list of other minor feature improvements and updates that are available in both the iOS and Mac versions of the software.

A bunch of changes apply to both iOS and OS X El Capitan users.

Apple finally dumped the beta tag from the iCloud versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote on Friday. Otherwise, each iWork app for Mac is available for $19.99 while each iWork app for iOS is available for $9.99.
