But that’s not the only thing making waves: Word has it that a new iPad may also be announced alongside the iPhone 7, just like what happened a year ago with the iPad Pro and iPad mini 4.

Early this Sunday, MacRumors picked up a photo of the 334 mAh lithium-ion battery on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo; however, the former admitted that there is still no means of confirming if the battery is indeed the one that would be fuelling the upcoming Apple Watch 2.

That’s a battery pack – said to be a larger one at 334mAh – that is ready to make its way to power Apple’s wearable device by a substantial 36 per cent more (from 246mAh for the current Watch’s 42mm variant).

Meanwhile, it has previously been reported that two new Apple Watch versions could be released in the 2016 second half, one with Global Positioning System and a larger battery. A significant bump in battery life would certainly be appreciated. As for the 38mm model, there are still no clues to show how much bigger its battery is going to be compared to its predecessor’s 205 mAh battery. In terms of software specs, the Apple Watch 2 is rumored to incorporate the upcoming WatchOS 3.0, which will provide an excellent user interface to the users.

However, Apple has not confirmed any detail about the specs or release date of the new smartwatch.

Apple is all set to unveil the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at its launch event which is likely to take place on September 7.
