Apple’s not the first phone company to drop the 3.5mm jack – launched in 2008, the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic didn’t have a 3.5mm jack, and plenty of recent devices are also headed in that direction. The new iPhone comes with EarPods with Lightning connector to deliver “incredible sound, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter that allows customers to use old headphones and accessories”.

Removing the port for headphones means they now connect only wirelessly or through a charging port. Plus, Apple has added new exercises to help track your swimming workouts.
