Apple Watch Series 2 is swim-proof, with CPU 50 percent faster
The Apple Watch Series 2 will come in aluminum, stainless steel and a new white ceramic finish that is four times harder than stainless steel. Water resistant for 50 meters, withstanding the water pressure equivalent of 50m, this wearable can even be worn by swimmers and wouldn’t malfunction one bit. The premium range wearable comes equipped with a watch dial Apple calls the digital crown for scrolling and zooming and a single day battery life.

During today’s iPhone 7 event, Apple announced the new Apple Watch Series 2. The display tech has been improved as well, with a 1,000 nit brightness level, and that’s paired with the new S2 chip to provide more power to the Apple Watch.
The new Apple Watch Series 2 features a display that is twice as bright as its predecessor as well as a standalone Global Positioning System feature and a new dual-core processor. The watchOS 3 will launch on September 13th. “We are committed to fitness and health and think our customers will love the new capabilities of Apple Watch Series 2”, said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.
“The Apple Watch is the ultimate device for a healthy life”, said CEO Tim Cook.
Apple revealed a new specially designed version of the Apple Watch with runners in mind, the Apple Watch Nike+. “It’s your ideal running partner”.
The Apple Watch Series 2 will have a built-in Global Positioning System chip, which frees runners from holding onto their iPhones during runs, while allowing accurate reads of pace, distance and elevation. The Nike+ version of the Apple Watch includes software optimized for runners, including shortcuts for starting a run, custom motivation for runners, and more.
