However, Samsung could request that the appeals court hear its case again in front of all of the Federal Circuit judges, instead of returning to the lower court. “For decades, we have invested heavily in developing revolutionary innovations in the mobile industry”.
However, the decision is not expected to have any significant impact on Samsung.
Apple won an earlier case against Samsung over the design of the iPhone which it said was copied. “We are fighting to defend the hard work that goes into beloved products like the iPhone, which our employees devote their lives to designing and delivering for our customers”.
This decision could have consequences that are far reaching in how disputes become resolved when it pertains to complex electronic devices, and help owners of patents limit rivals from copying. This patent war will keep on going and no one is ever going to give up.
However, the recent decision admitted that the previous court should have taken into account whether these unique features of Apple will shift consumers away from Apple to Samsung.

Samsung will probably appeal.
“Judge Reyna’s concurrence in Apple v Samsung would essentially overrule (underrule?) eBay altogether”, he wrote. The Korean firm’s software has been updated several times since then, suggesting that the patents may not be infringed upon anymore.

While the “slide to unlock” feature requires a user to touch a specific spot on the display, Samsung smartphones are now capable of being unlocked by swiping anywhere on the screen. This wouldn’t significantly affect Samsung’s current business, either: the phones at issue here include, among others, the Galaxy S2, the Galaxy Nexus, and the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch – devices from 2011.
