Affected products, which are marked with the establishment number “P-2617”, were shipped to retail centers in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, and Texas.

Approximately 103,752 pounds of chicken products may be contaminated with metal fragments, according to the FSIS recall notice issued on Monday, March 7.
The chicken nuggets were made for Applegate – a division of Austin-based Hormel Foods – by an affiliate of Perdue Foods, one of the nation’s largest chicken producers. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) notified the FSIS of the recall which affected products exported to the United States.
The recall occurred after “a handful of consumers reported finding small plastic pieces” in their chicken nuggets, Applegate said in a press statement.
The products included in the recall include eight-ounce boxes of Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets, containing about 18 pieces, produced September 28, 2015, with a “Best Before Date of September 27, 2016”. Consumers who find those pouches are asked to contact GoGo squeeZ at 1-844-275-5841, or on the website at www.gogosqueez.com to request a replacement voucher.

The problem was discovered when a consumer from the USA complained to Maxi Canada of a foreign object in the product. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
