Aqib Talib Has A bad Excuse For Poking Dwayne Allen’s Eye

“I do not even remember, man”, the Denver Broncos’ veteran cornerback told USA TODAY Sports, sitting at his locker after he was flagged twice late in a 27-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Manning threw for 281 yards Sunday now has 71,836 during his career, three yards short of breaking Brett Favre’s record of 71,838.

On second-and-9 from the Denver 15-yard line, Colts running back Frank Gore picked up two yards. Allen was locked in an argument with Broncos linebacker Von Miller.

Talib was assessed two penalties that came four plays apart in the final 2 minutes, 35 seconds of Sunday’s game.

Allen accused Talib of taking a cheap shot. “I’m just going to leave it at that”.

“Out of nowhere, I saw something, and it went into my eye”.

Talib will appeal the suspension, but he’s fighting an uphill battle. “I believe (Roger Goodell) has a hard enough job as it is”, Allen said.

“It’s a very sad play, man. You’re taught since Little League football to plaly to the end of the whistle within the boundaries of the game”.

However, the National Football League isn’t buying Talib or Kubiak’s explanation that it was an honest mistake, mostly because the video shows that it quite clearly wasn’t an honest mistake.

“I don’t know, ” Kubiak said.

Aqib got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty during the game but could face a fine or suspension for the poke, either Monday or Tuesday.

According to Chris Mortensen with ESPN, if Talib doesn’t win an appeal he would be suspended without pay and lose a game check. “Game gets chippy and both sides are talking”. You have to handle your business.

Kubiak also said he had a long talk with Talib on the team flight home.
