Arby’s Thanks Jon Stewart Despite Getting Lampooned For Years

The comedian, born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, left the Comedy Central show after 16 years in which it won multiple awards. Stewart, a Lawrenceville native who often touts his Jersey roots, has had Springsteen on his show multiple times, and has never been shy about his fandom. “They probably don’t even know about – you guys should really check out the show online, you’ll be eviscerated”.

Nine days after September 11, 2001, Jon Stewart and “The Daily Show” staff returned to work with a somber opening reflecting on the tragedy that had unfolded just over a week before.

The set of The Every day Present with Jon Stewart will probably be donated to the Newseum after Stewart’s last episode.

The show started in 1999 and had a successful run making fun of politicians, newsmakers and authors, but was at times very poignant.

Exhibit A: This masterpiece of a segment, where Stewart takes Donald Trump to task for taking then-vice presidential candidate (and Governor of Alaska) Sarah Palin out for “real New York pizza” at Famous Famiglia – a national chain that couldn’t be any further from that.

As it turns out, there is one group faring better: Stewart’s beloved New York Mets, who as of yesterday’s taping had claimed first place in the National League East division.

Jon Stewart’s interview with Malala Yousafzai is arguably one of the most popular in the show’s history, and certainly one of the most viral. Noah, who has been touring the United States to drum up support for his comedy and build his brand, arrives to the job as a relative newcomer to American audiences and will be carefully scrutinized as he takes over what has become a cultural touchstone.

With thousands of words in tributes being written on his behalf the past few weeks, Stewart hasn’t granted exit interviews.

“That was the original title of my act”, Stewart replied. Comedians have taken on political corruption, media manipulation and public softheadedness for decades, often in a mock journalistic way.

And NJ.com’s resident Boss expert Stan Goldstein also wrote on Twitter, “Look for Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band to be on Jon Stewart’s final show on Thursday”.

“He’s been after us for years”, Ailes said, referring to Stewart’s regular criticism of Fox News’s conservative commentators.
