Archie Panjabi Slams Julianna Margulies’ Dismissal Of a Feud

Keep mum on your feud with Archie Panjabi if you want, but don’t call us insane for noticing. This included a scene in May’s Season 6 finale that reportedly used a special-effects split screen to make it seem as if they were having a conversation sitting next to each other – extremely unusual for any show, let alone a prestige, Emmy-winning drama. Now, Margulies has spoken out, noting that it was simply scheduling conflicts that led to the scene.

“I insisted on a wig for the show because I wanted to be able to take her off at the end of the night”, Margulies said of playing Alicia, who she ultimately finds to be “sad and lonely”, adding: “She’s a very lonely woman – and I’m not talking about boyfriend stuff – there’s a few damage that’s been done there”. “[Panjabi] was also doing another show, called The Fall [which shots in the U.K.].I went along with whatever Robert asked me to do and I did it happily”.

Neither Margulies nor “Good Wife” creators Michelle and Robert King are under any obligation to discuss goings-on behind the scenes.

The backstory: There have always been rumors of on-set tension between Margulies and Panjabi.

Then after the Season 6 finale split-screen scene, the showrunners went on the defensive – and still avoided a direct answer – when TVLine’s Michael Ausiello told them point-blank that viewers felt duped by the obvious, extensive separation of Kalinda and Alicia with no real answer. The two characters were pals up through season two when Alicia found out Kalinda had slept with Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) prior to knowing Alicia.

Margulies also felt that more attention was given to the rumored feud because it was between two women.

“I heard that question had been asked to Robert King“. There’s no story there, sorry …

While Panjabi hasn’t explicitly said that there was a feud brewing between the two actresses, she has come out and countered Margulies’ claim that she was unable to shoot the scene with her in person. “First of all, I was surprised people are keeping track”, Robert said about the actresses’ lack of shared screen time. There’s no animosity on my part.

The Good Wife” feud rages on.

“I was so happy that she was genuine”. The rumor of strife gained traction earlier this year after it was revealed that Margulies and Panjabi appeared to have filmed Panjabi’s finale separately. Margulies is putting the focus on King for making the decision that he did, while Panjabi is saying that she was available to film the scene with Julianna is the situation allowed for it. The mystery continues…
