It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 Octa-Core processor with Mali-T860MP2 as GPU. We’ll bring you more details from MWC next week. The Diamond 2 Plus is smaller than the Diamond 2 Note, as it’s got a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 octa-core chipset clocked at 2GHz with the PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
According to Archos, its new Diamond 2 Note will be available for purchase in May for just £249 (€320 / $355) outright, which is a great deal considering its specs. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the device includes an internal storage of 64GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. 6 support, a fingerprint sensor on the back, a USB Type-C port, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
It’s also worth mentioning that Diamond 2 Note will also be one of Archos’ first smartphone to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. It features a hybrid SIM slot, which can house either two SIM cards (Micro+Nano) or a single SIM card along with a microSD card (up to 128GB) for storage expansion – it houses 32GB of inbuilt storage.
Archos appears to be growing into a seriously impressive smartphone manufacturer with top spec handsets for low prices. Both devices will be available in European markets starting in May. Cameras include a 16MP rear camera with 4K video recording, and an 8MP front camera.
