Are Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury On A Collision Course?
On Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder defended his title for the third time against Artur Szpilka. Fury is fuming because he was stripped by the IBF ten days after winning the title from Wladimir Klitschko, whereas newly crowned IBF champion Charles Martin is getting a full year to make a mandatory defense. Povetkin (30-1, 22 KOs) has knocked out each of his four opponents since Klitschko out-pointed him in their October 2013 championship unification fight. I don’t think it will help Povetkin any in fighting in front of his own fans, because it’s not like they can come into the ring and let Povetkin sit on their shoulders and throw punches to make him a taller fighter. The push for a British venue for the fight by Fury’s team won’t exclusively be based on finances as his father John and uncle Peter, who serves as both his manager and trainer, can’t enter the USA due to prior criminal convictions in Britain. What do you got to say about that, Deontay?

“None of this was setup”, Wilder said of Fury’s actions.
With the developments, such could be something that may hinder that scheduled rematch between Fury and Klitschko.
Another issue that Wilder must correct is that he is simply too reliant on his right hand and depends on it way too much to erase his mistakes.
“I’ve been to Russian Federation [to fight as an amateur]. But I love a challenge”, Wilder said. “I got uncomfortable, and all of this has caused some fatigue, discouragement, and even confusion”.
Tyson Fury did what neither Pulev nor Povetkin could.
I just don’t see Povetkin as being any threat whatsoever to beating Wilder.
The contract also stipulated that the rematch must be staged where it makes most financial sense.
“I look very positively on this”, Povetkin said. The money is obviously is obviously better at heavyweight, so it was a smart thing for Povetkin to be fighting in this division. Which tells me Wilder isn’t a born puncher like Wladimir Klitschko and he must have everything set for him regarding his body positioning and his opponent totally defenseless in order to really crack with authentic single shot concussive power.
