Are the Rebels in Alabama’s Head?

The number one ranked Crimson Tide of Alabama will travel to Oxford to take on the 19th ranked Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels lost in Week 1 to Florida State and can’t afford another defeat in order to stay alive for the College Football Playoff.

– The 2017 Ole Miss football schedule was unveiled Tuesday night as the Southeastern Conference announced next year’s full league slate on SEC Network.

Offensive line play was less than stellar for the Tide last week. And there’s no shortage of motivation here for Alabama.

Ole Miss student Mary Evelyn Webb and Special Olympics athlete Taylor Rosenthal participate in the Unified Rebels flag football team.

Ole Miss has been the only riddle Alabama couldn’t quite solve. And in close, contested games, explosive plays can be huge swings.

Texas A&M might cause Alabama to fall later in the season.

This may be a game to remember or just another win for Alabama.

If Vanderbilt is going to win its out-of-conference matchup against the Yellow Jackets, it’s going to have to orchestrate time-consuming drives to give its defense a break from Tech’s relentless running game. On the ground, Damien Harris rushed for 45 yards in 11 attempts while B.J. Emmons had 41 yards and a touchdown in 11 attempts.

The Ole Miss defense was able to rattle FSU redshirt freshman quarterback Deondre Francois in the first half, but Francois gained composure in front of a friendly Seminoles crowd. The Rebels limited Florida State to 3.9 yards per carry in the opener, and Heisman Trophy contender Dalvin Cook recorded only 91 yards on 23 carries. Freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts has seamlessly replaced Jake Coker.

-RT Jonah Williams posted a grade of 85 percent on Saturday with no sacks or pressures allowed and two knockdown blocks by game’s end.

Rebels’ senior quarterback Chad Kelly has proven himself as an elite signal caller, honing his preparation for big moments such as this. Last season, Chad Kelly led Ole Miss to a 43-37 win against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. That could mean a lot of targets for tight end Evan Engram early as the Rebels try to loosen up the Alabama defense.

IMPACT PERFORMER: Vanderbilt RB Ralph Webb ran for a career-high 211 yards in a 47-24 victory over Middle Tennessee last week and is averaging 154 yards rushing per game to rank fourth among all FBS players.

“They have a great quarterback – that Chad Kelly is a victor”, Harrison said.

The other three-game streaks came when Saban coached at Michigan State in the 1990s. But the Tide would have the last laugh as they would still finish the season as National Champs. Adding to the concerns about this unit was the season-ending knee injury to Kendarius Webster in the opener.

“I think they have given up about 40 yards rushing a game, a little over 200 yards of total offense against two pretty good offensive teams so far”. [This week] we practiced Ross back at left guard, Shank at right guard, Lester Cotton at left guard, and we feel confident in all three of those players. Ole Miss CB Tony Bridges – The Rebels don’t have the biggest secondary, or one of the most experienced, which leads one to expect that the 6-foot, 185-pound Bridges would be a natural fit to match up opposite the 6-1, 204-pound Stewart, known to be one of the more physical receivers in the SEC.

It can even be said that Ole Miss is in Alabama’s head.
